Hi, the error message is not full visible, may you scroll to see the remain text? Generally speaking VD can't copy if the disk permissions are not set Please try to copy (just few files) to another disk (maybe the mac disk) to see if everything works fine, I really suspect the /Volume/4TB... has some permission settings incompatible with Apple sandbox (not directly VD but Apple file system) A stupid question, does copying from finder work fine? |

Hi - thanks for the prompt response. Something else weird. I tried copying files. The right folder has some sort of file placeholder now, but I can't delete these and they're not 'real' files? Delete message screenshot and folder contents screenshot attached Yes Finder works. I've just tried a bunch of different folders and it worked?! I have now tried a different folder and it also has not worked. Yep, using the exact same drives. Some work some don't. The files I can't delete are as per the screenshot - it says they are the same name and same extension, but zero bytes and I can't delete. macOS Big Sur Version 11.5.2 (20G95) Screen Shot 2021-09-22 at 14.39.05-2.png (127,146 bytes) |

I want to be sure the problems are related to this disk, so if you copy to some other disk at least the internal mac disk everything works fine every time? May you delete the broken (placeholder) files from Finder? |

Yes, the files move to another disk ok. No, I can't delete those broken files. I think you may be correct, there may be something wrong with the disk. I'm not sure why a whole bunch of actions would work and some not though? I think it is the disk - I just tried to run first aid on it and it brought up an error message. I just tried again and it worked.... But, I still can't delete those placeholder files. I think close this. THANKS for your assist though and I do love the app and so glad I found it! |
